Mr Solomon Tembo
Mr Solomon Tembo is a seasoned business executive with extensive experience in insurance, reinsurance, risk management, corporate governance and strategic management.
He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Zimre Holdings Limited and Managing Director of Baobab Reinsurance, having earlier held senior positions within the Zimre Group, including General Manager responsible for Reinsurance. He also served as Managing Director and Principal Officer of Fidelity Life Assurance of Zimbabwe.
Mr Tembo has considerable board and corporate governance experience across the financial services sector. His previous appointments include Board Chairperson of Fidelity Life Assurance, ZimRe Reinsurance Company, Fidelity Life Medical Services Company and Zimbabwe Insurance Brokers, among several other directorships. He also served as President of the African Insurance Organisation.
He holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering Technology from Michigan State University in the United States and a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Cranfield Institute of Technology in the United Kingdom.
