Insurance Awareness Run, a resounding success
The Insurance Awareness Run organised by the Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) on 29 June in Harare was a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in public education and engagement.
The event, held at ZB Sports Club in Vainona, attracted hundreds of participants from various walks of life, all united by a common goal – to raise awareness about the importance of insurance as a risk management tool.
The Run was designed to combine the elements of physical and mental fitness, community spirit, and educational outreach. Participants had the option to join in a 5km, 10km, or 21.1km family-friendly fun run, ensuring that there was something for everyone, regardless of their fitness level. After the Run, there was an aerobics session as post-marathon recovery training.
Attendees had the opportunity to visit various exhibition stands to learn more about insurance, in the process helping demystify insurance for many attendees, making them more comfortable and informed about their options.
The Insurance Awareness Run not only succeeded in drawing attention to the importance of insurance but also fostered a sense of community. Participants left the event with a better understanding of how insurance works and the peace of mind that comes from being adequately protected.
