Dr Gilford Tapera Hapanyengwi
Dr Hapanyengwi is an IT specialist with about 40 years of experience in the sector.
He is the Director of ICT at the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education and previously worked as Director Computer Center and lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe.
Dr Hapanyengwi is also a board member of Zimbabwe Project Trust T/A Trust Academy Trustees, Chairman of the Board, Councillor of the National Manpower Advisory Council, Member of Advisory Committee of E-learning in Africa.
He previously served in various boards including the Computer Society of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Research Council, Zimbabwe Internet Governance Forum, Zimbabwe Academic and Research Network (ZARNET), Methodist in Zimbabwe Church Group Funeral Policy, and Powertel Communications. Dr Hapanywengwi also served as Chairperson of the UNESCO National Steering Committee on Informatics, and board member of the Research Council of Zimbabwe.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University, Nashville Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Zimbabwe
